Broad Street United Methodist Church

webassets/HouseBuilding.gifWe will be sending members this summer!

The Capital District is recruiting volunteers for a work mission to Slidell, Louisana to repair homes for families affected by Hurricane Katrina. The cost is $350.00 per person plus food en route. The cost is so low because Project NOAH (New Orleans Area Hope) is generously supported the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).

Food for the Needy

Remember those  in need - Please remember to bring in non-perishable food items for the local food pantry as we reach out to those in need in our community.  Suggested items: canned items such as fruit, vegetables, spaghetti and meatballs, beef stew, tuna fish.  Also, items such as crackers, salad dressings, ketchup, sugar, tee coffee, jelly, peanut butter, etc.  A collection box is available in the chapel.

Cancelled Postage Stamps

Please save your used postage stamps!  Remove them from the envelope, leaving a minimum of ¼ inch around the stamp.  A collection box is available in the chapel.  This is an ongoing project and stamps are collected year long.  They will be used to support the Methodist Hospital in Philly.

Acme Tape-Saver

The Acme Tape-Saver Program is returning to Broad Street UMC.  Thanks to Jeanne Myers who has volunteered to lead the Broad Street Acme Tape Saver Program.

PLEASE BEGIN TO SAVE YOUR ACME REGISTER TAPES (both blue and
white) from any of the following Acme Stores in our area (all of these
stores register tapes are accepted in this program):

Burlington - 2200 Mount Holly Road (Walmart Plaza)
Moorestown - 350 Young Avenue
Cinnaminson - 1103 Route 130
Medford - Sharp Run Plaza, 175 Route 70
Mount Holly - 531 High Street (Fairgrounds Plaza)
Willingboro - 2091 Route 130 (Willingboro Plaza)

A collection box will be placed in the chapel (near the mailboxes). This
program will raise 1% of the register tapes for programs at Broad Street
Church.

The receipts have to be within the last year.  Right now I am collecting them from April 2007 through correct dates.

I can only turn them in once a month and it must be at least $ 5,000.00 before I am able to turn them in.

Please ask me if you have any questions.  Thanks,

                                                                             -  Jean Tomer
