Introduction to the Scripture Lessons

·         Acts 1:1-11. The story of the final teaching and ascension of Jesus from Acts. "Wait until the power of the Spirit comes upon you ... then be my witnesses in all the world."

·         Ephesians 1:15-23. A theological interpretation of the ascension of Jesus -- "that you may know . . . what is the immeasurable power of his greatness for us who believe."

·         Luke 24: 44-53. An earlier Lukan version of the last words and ascension of Jesus. "Proclaim repentance and forgiveness of sins to all nations beginning in Jerusalem."
