Christmas Eve Service
Not everyone greets the holidays with cheer. Grief can debilitate
a person in ordinary times, but especially during the holidays. Grief can come in many forms; the death of a loved one,
divorce or separation, the loss of a job, living with cancer or some other disease, or going through another year not able
to have a child. As one widow said "If I'd had my druthers for Christmas, I would have put a paper bag
over my head on December 1, crawled under the bed and hidden out until Christmas was over..."
The hope of
this "Blue Christmas Eve service" is that the Scripture, music and meditation will focus on the comfort God offers
during dark times. It is our desire that you will find this service to be a sort of sacred place for grieving, a holy
moment for healing and hope - that in the midst of pain you may experience the true joy of Christmas.
